We spend our whole lives wondering what greatness lies within us. What is our fate…our destiny. We wish to have super powers, win lotteries, and think that these things would make our lives better. Make them “easier” for us.

How many times a day do we say “what if” or “if only”? Why do we spend so much time desiring the things we don’t have?

I am just as guilty as the next. I love wondering aloud what could happen and what if this happened, but at the end of the day I love exactly what I’ve achieved in my life on my own without any super thing happening.

I went and saw X-Men: First Class tonight with one of my friends that I’ve had for oh so long. We are both movie nerds and truly appreciate all the different aspects. This series (minus the Wolverine movie) sparks creativity and excitement in your mind. You begin to think how different life could be if you could read someones mind or had the power to change into anyone you wanted. It would be different, but would that make it better?

I’m going to bet that it wouldn’t. I think that it would take away the mysteries that make life so great to begin with. Even when the unexpected wasn’t what we wanted or when it’s the thing that we think may break us we find a way to get through it. Standing up when all you want to do is crawl into bed is a super power and the sooner we all realize the little powers we have the greater potential each one of us has. We each make mistakes, but the best part is always the next part.

Today I am smiling because we are all human.
